What's New

Ladies and gentlemen, children of all ages, this is Kris at the keyboard. Since the last post we've comfirmed our first booking, which will be November 19 at Cross of Christ Lutheran Church in Concord. I'm really excited about it, because hopefully this will be the first of many.

One thing this booking taught me is that we definitely need to increase our number of songs that carry a Christian message. Not that any of our songs have a bad message, it is just that few of them delve into speaking of our relationship with God. To give a couple examples of the songs we have pulled together this week, we have dc Talk's What If I Stumble? and the folk North American hymn, Just a Closer Walk With Thee. Another secular piece we might have a good look at is The Who's Pinball Wizard. That piece is fun to listen to, but it will be a challenge to play those guitar parts (but I think we may be up to it).

Nick and I will finally have time to practice together this evening!!! We'll report how that goes.

How'd the practice go?

Practice went well - we realized which songs we needed to cut, which ones we needed to work more on, which ones are fine, and then discussed which types we need to add. Does that cover it? :) Our friend, Rob, stopped by at the end of it. After listening to Stuck in a Moment (by U2), he said it wasn't bad. Then we told him that was the first time we had ever performed it together (Nick's first to ever play it, maybe my fifth) - he was a little surprised. :)

I'll try to submit a new post later today or sometime tomorrow. I hope all is well, Steve!

~Kris
